Dear Valued Customer,
In 2010 the State of Pennsylvania increased manufacturing jobs by some 9,000 employees. Along the same line, Paramount Industries increased its professional and skilled work force by 25%. Because of the challenges facing several U.S. industries, and last year's particularly hard blow to the manufacturing sector, many senators and congressmen visited thriving organizations to learn how more companies might apply advanced technology and increase business opportunities. Paramount was one of the organizations that hosted several facility tours for legislators who wanted to see first hand what works in a tumultuous economy. The entire team at Paramount Industries is dedicated to excellence in design engineering, additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, direct digital manufacturing, rapid manufacturing, tooling, urethane casting, injection molding and contract manufacturing. As I take a hard look at our organization, it's easy to see that it's more than just that -- it's about people who have a passion for product development, world-class innovation, advanced technologies and manufacturing. As we work to maintain this position of leadership among the world's most experienced providers of product development and manufacturing services, I can say without a doubt that Paramount has had a phenomenal year. I attribute this success to our stakeholders -- dedicated employees and loyal customers. I thank you and wish you all the very best in 2011. Sincerely,
Jim Williams, President & CEO Paramount Industries, Inc. |

2010 : A Look Back
Many people will tell you that you can't know where you are going until you know where you've been. That's why the people at Paramount have focused on innovation leadership and high tech manufacturing capabilities since 1966 -- building upon what was learned year after year. Some of the most significant highlights in 2010 were accomplished when Paramount: - Introduced PA642-GSL, a breakthrough in laser sintering material that offers improved performance characteristics for prototyping and production components. PA642-GSL was developed specifically for the aerospace UAV/UAS and defense industries -- it's 11% lighter than unfilled polyamides, 32% lighter than mineral fiber filled and 43% lighter than glass filled laser sintering materials.
- Teamed with United States Army and a group of subject matter experts to develop and manufacture the Wolfhound Handheld Threat Warning System. Wolfhound received the U.S. Army's 2010 Invention of the Year Award in December.
- Delivered rapid manufacturing solutions for Honeywell's T-Hawk. T-Hawk, featuring vertical takeoff and landing, is a field-proven unmanned micro air vehicle deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan to defeat improvised explosive devices and protects the lives of Nation's military personnel.
- Secured a two-year R&D contract for the Rapid Manufacturing of Aerospace Structures (RMAS). A successful outcome of this effort would reduce the U.S. Air Force's manufacturing costs and enable rapid deployment of micro and small scale Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS). The implementation of Paramount's patent pending Conformal Lattice Structures (CLS™) technology for selective laser sintering (SLS) and direct digital manufacturing (DDM) will eliminate traditional manufacturing scale-up lead times for SUAS manufacturers. Paramount's CLS technology will also provide engineers the freedom of design to create superior structures with engineered strength-to-weight ratios and payload modularity, structural components and other mission specific payloads.

2011 : A Look Forward
Experts agree, using additive manufacturing technologies for production parts and mass customization is the way of the future for aerospace, UAS/UAV, automotive, dental, medical and motorsport industries. Whether it's the delivery of one part or several thousand, Paramount has identified corporate goals and objectives to ensure all projects exceed the highest of quality standards. In 2011, Paramount's ongoing commitment to excellence continues with:
- Commitment to Quality : Paramount's continual improvement initiative will advance its registration in the quality system from AS9100B to AS9100C in 2011, just as the organization did when upgrading from ISO9001:2000 to ISO9001:2008 last October. Successfully meeting stringent requirements to obtain these certifications reinforce Paramount's commitment to excellence while meeting quality standards mandated by the aerospace, defense and consumer products industries.
- Technological Innovation : Paramount's development of high-temperature, ESD compliant laser sintering material for SLS technology continues with Phase II of a two-year, $2.6 million Small Business Innovation Research project. This contract was awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense and sponsored by the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). The project focus is on the development and implementation of materials and processes for fabricating non-structural aerospace components for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program.
- Research & Development : Paramount's strategic partnerships with universities will leverage R&D of high-temperature laser sintering materials (HTLS) that will benefit bio-technology, and play a critical role in the advancement of medical science -- starting with the most basic of research and ending with final results that will have far reaching implications from the development of medical devices and implants to human stem cell research.
