On behalf of SiMT and InnoVenture, I'd like to thank everyone who attended the Product Visualization Forum last week at the Advanced Manufacturing Center on the SiMT campus. For those of you who were unable to attend, we're sorry we missed you and hopefully the following overview will encourage you to attend our next event!

State of the Industry
Terry Wohlers gave the keynote address to kick off the InnoVenture Forum. In his address he noted that companies in the additive-manufacturing business are optimistic about the future growth of AM for part production applications. Companies representing thousands of users and customers of AM technology from around the world responded to a survey on the subject. They believe that AM part production will represent 35.9% of their business in five years, as shown in the following graph. In 10 years, the same companies believe that it will represent more than half (50.5%) of their business. The survey respondents said that AM part production was 15.6%of their business in 2008.
