Case Study: Metallizing and Finishes |
Metallizing is the general name for the technique of coating metal on the surface of non-metallic objects. Vacuum metallizing is often used for decorative purposes or to enhance the aesthetical appearance. Electroplating is often used for aesthetics and also build up thickness on parts that require materials to mimic metal properties. |

Case Study: Go/No go |
A Go-NoGo gauge (or go/no go) refers to an inspection tool used to check a workpiece against its allowed tolerances. These gauges determine if this part is either acceptable (the part is within tolerance and may be used) or it is unacceptable (and must be rejected). In general go/no go testing refers to a pass/fail test (or check) principle using two boundary conditions. The test is passed only when both the Go condition is met and the No go condition fails. Of Special Interest: Your Vendors |
In tough economic times, it's important to pay attention to cost when outsourcing. And while some vendors are quick to make promises and price concessions, remember you get what you pay for. Here are a few questions to ask when working with a new supplier: Does the vendor stock the material from the manufacturer you are accustomed to? Does the vendor have quality control processes in place? Does the vendor have reliable delivery schedules? Developing a long-lasting relationship with your vendor will help guarantee your project remains on target and on budget. |
