Dear Nadra,

South Carolina is becoming a hub of economic development projects. Last week, the Chamber of Commerce recognized local manufacturers for best of class product development with the annual Crescent Awards program held here at SiMT. Additionally, SiMT has joined with SCMEP to offer advanced product marketing workshops to businesses across South Carolina. "Profit 101! Advanced Product Development Strategies" will visit Rock Hill, Greenwood, Charleston, FLorence, Aiken and Greenville. Exciting times! As our region and technical college continue to grow, the Rapid Prototyping Center at SiMT remains committed to delivering prototyping and manufacturing services to aerospace, automotive and product development companies everywhere. In the coming months we will complete a variety of upgrades to our prototyping equipment with a 3D Systems performance package that has been proven to double the speed of current SLS systems. We will certainly keep you posted on new developments!

3D SystemsSelected Laser Sintering
The Rapid Prototyping Center at SiMT is in the process of upgrading the Sinterstation® Pro 230 and the Sinterstation® HiQ™ SLS® systems with 3D Systems performance and speed enhancement package. TrueTemp™ thermal system and CleanSweep™ control technology reportedly allow systems to build parts as much as twice the speed of current sintering systems while dramatically reducing part-to-part and build-to-build variability.

iPro SLANext Gen Stereolithography
The Rapid Prototyping Center at SiMT is upgrading the Viper Pro to 3D Systems iPro™ 9000 SLA Center® -- noted for quickly and economically producing high-definition plastic parts with unmatched part quality and accuracy Accura® materials. Accura® 25 Plastic simulates the performance, properties and aesthetics of molded polypropylene with this accurate and flexible material. Accura® 60 Plastic simulates the properties and appearance of polycarbonate with this clear, tough plastic.
